Qualifications
The qualifications for each position vary; however, they generally include:
Assistant Lecturer: A good Honours Degree and a Master’s in the relevant discipline.
Lecturer II: Ph.D. in the relevant discipline or a Master’s degree with at least two years of cognate experience.
Lecturer I: Master’s degree with a minimum of five years of cognate experience or a Ph.D. with two years of experience as a Lecturer II, along with scholarly publications.
Senior Lecturer: Ph.D. and a minimum of two years as a Lecturer I, plus scholarly publications.
Reader: Ph.D., with a minimum of two years as a Senior Lecturer and evidence of scholarly work.
Professor: Ph.D., with at least two years as a Reader and significant scholarly contributions.
Librarians: Good Honours Degree in Library Science; a higher degree is an advantage.
Cataloguers: Good Honours Degree in Library Science with a specialization in Cataloguing; higher degree is also an advantage.
